PITTSBURGH, PA (February 26, 2025) The Pittsburgh Scholar House (PSH) Board of Directors today announced the departure of Dr. Diamonte Walker, who has served as the organization’s inaugural CEO since April 2022. Dr. Walker has been instrumental in guiding PSH through its startup phase, laying a strong foundation for its continued growth and impact. Dr. Walker will depart the organization to lead a national nonprofit focused on building strong entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Under Dr. Walker’s leadership, PSH has achieved significant milestones, including:
- Establishing PSH as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and building a dynamic and engaged board of directors
- Staffing the organization to effectively serve single-parent students
- Raising more than $4 million in funding over three years to support PSH’s mission
- Designing and developing the award-winning Wayfinders Program, which has increased college access and academic support for more than 200 single parents pursuing a degree
- Forging a groundbreaking partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh to provide Housing Choice Vouchers to income-eligible single-parent students in need of stable housing
- Securing commitments to bring more than 80 units of affordable housing online for PSH families.

Dr. Walker’s last official day with Pittsburgh Scholar House will be March 31, 2025. The PSH Board will officially launch its executive search in early spring.
