The Heinz Endowments is adding $750,000 to close a funding gap for a proposal to redevelop the former PACT building at 120 Cecil Way downtown into an affordable housing redevelopment.
Pittsburgh Scholar House, a partner to the project with its main developer, Beacon Communities, announced that it has secured the funding from the Heinz Endowments, adding to the $2.5 million it secured in August for the project — $1.5 million from the Henry L. Hillman Foundation and $1 million from the Richard King Mellon Foundation — pushing the total past the $3 million needed for the project.
